Sixty-seven Nigerians have returned home from South Africa as part of a repatriation programme run by a group of philanthropists.

They landed at Lagos airport on Wednesday night aboard a South African Airways flight.

The returnees were welcomed by members of the group, who gave each person fifty thousand naira for immediate support.

This latest batch brings the total number of Nigerians brought back to 150, following an earlier group of 83.

The coordinators told the returning Nigerians not to let their experiences abroad discourage them from rebuilding their lives in Nigeria.

They stressed that the country has real opportunities for growth and development, especially for the younger returnees who should stay focused on their futures.

The philanthropists encouraged everyone to follow government regulations as they settle back in and to embrace the idea of contributing to Nigeria's progress.

They noted that Nigeria has significant potential waiting to be tapped by citizens willing to apply their skills and experience toward building better lives for themselves and their communities.
