Students applying to Nigerian universities will now verify their exam results just once instead of doing it repeatedly at different schools.

JAMB and WAEC announced a new system on Tuesday that cuts down hassle and cost for admission seekers.

Previously, candidates had to pay to verify their WASSCE or O'Level results multiple times as they applied to different institutions.

Under the new arrangement, they pay N4,000 only once through JAMB's platform.

After that, the verification is done and universities can access it themselves.

The payment goes only to JAMB, not to individual schools.

Universities are forbidden from asking candidates to pay again for verification of the same results.

Once a student verifies through JAMB's system, all the schools they apply to can see the verified results for free.

The two examination bodies say this cuts unnecessary spending and stress for students.

Candidates can verify their results from anywhere with internet instead of having to visit schools or testing centres repeatedly.

WAEC has allowed JAMB to share verification results with universities for admission purposes only.

The collaboration puts students first by removing extra costs and making the admission process simpler while keeping academic records secure and trustworthy.
