Nyesom Wike has made a bold declaration about his political influence in Rivers State and the FCT ahead of 2027.

Nyesom Wike, the minister in charge of the Federal Capital Territory, has said he will make sure President Bola Tinubu wins both Rivers State and the FCT in next year's election.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike claimed he controls the political machinery in both places and called himself the general commander.
He said he doesn't need to be a governor to run things in Rivers he is in charge anyway.
He described himself as the commanding officer of the political structure in both Rivers and the FCT.
Wike, a former Rivers governor, said his power in both places comes from the loyalty of all the major political parties and their structures.
His comments come as Rivers State is going through major political shifts ahead of 2027, with parties and groups reshaping their alliances.
