Aisha Yesufu has stirred fresh political tension with a bold claim about the ruling party and its preparations for the 2027 election.

An NDC chieftain, Aisha Yesufu, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.
Yesufu said that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was threatening Nigerians across the country as its internal calculations ahead of the coming elections were not favorable.
“Yesufu issued the statement on Thursday in response to recent public statements by major APC leaders and state executives on her official online page.

They have been all over the country threatening themselves," Yesufu wrote.
Her statement comes against the backdrop of mounting public outrage over some APC governors and party leaders who have recently called on the Nigerian people to cast their votes for the ruling party in 2027.
Such was the recent warning by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, who made comments urging voters to join the APC and which has generated a lot of debate.
