A confrontation between a soldier and transport workers in Bauchi State has taken an unexpected turn after an attempt to control traffic reportedly escalated into an assault.

A soldier was allegedly @tt@cked by members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers at Zwall Guard Location in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Wednesday.
The incident happened around 6:02 pm when troops from Sector 8, Sub-Sector 82 of Operation Enduring Peace responded to reports of the @ssault.
Hezekiah Usoko, the soldier involved, was attempting to stop a commercial driver who was allegedly obstructing traffic by picking up passengers when NURTW members allegedly @tt@cked him.
He sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.
Troops who arrived at the scene arrested the commercial driver and impounded his Zectra vehicle, registration number KTS 462-KTN.
The incident is now under investigation as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the @ssault.
