Economic Boom Anticipated in Abia State as Foreign Firm Plots to Build Oil Refinery

The news of a plan to build an oil refinery in Abia state by a multinational firm will come as a massive boost to residents who have been complaining of unemployment which has plagued Nigeria as a whole.

The Hyundai Motor Group held a meeting with the Abia State government with the intention to begin the construction of a 250,000 bpd oil refinery at Owaza in Ukwa, Abia State.
 
The agreement was struck with the representatives of the firm and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. The economic achievement is expected to employ thousands of Abia residents and boost the economy of the south-eastern state.
