Flights at London Gatwick Airport were delayed for hours after a Norse Atlantic Airways plane had to slam on the brakes during takeoff at around 138 mph.

The flight to New York was speeding down the runway when the pilots noticed a problem with the front landing gear and slammed the brakes.

Emergency trucks rushed out to surround the plane, and the runway was shut down for nearly an hour.

Several incoming flights had to land at other airports instead.
Luckily, nobody was hurt.

The runway is open again, but the delay cleared up slowly, leaving passengers stuck waiting for hours as the schedules tried to get back on track.
