Customs Officer Dies in Cross River Road Crash

A 54 year old Customs officer has died following a tragic crash on a major highway in Cross River State.

A 54-year-old officer with the Nigeria Customs Service has d!£d in a car crash on a highway in Cross River State.

Prince Etteng Ise, who worked at Mfum Border in Etung, was driving on the Ikom-Calabar Highway on Monday when he swerved to avoid a pothole.

His vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree.

The accident happened around 2:56 pm near Alesi Village in Ikom Local Government Area.

He was rushed to Holy Family Hospital in Ikom where doctors confirmed he had d!£d.

His body was moved to the hospital mortuary.

Police have asked drivers to be more careful on the highway, avoid speeding and stay alert while driving.

They expressed sympathy to Ise's family, colleagues and the customs service over his d£ath.
