NOUN Appoints Acting Bursar After Bursar Is Killed in Zamfara

The National Open University of Nigeria has moved quickly to fill a key leadership position following the shocking death of its Bursar in Zamfara.

The National Open University of Nigeria has named Ramatu Ibrahim as Acting Bursar following the k!lling of the university's Bursar, Nasir Marafa.

The appointment comes during a three-day mourning period declared by the university for Nasir Marafa, which started on Monday and ends on Wednesday.

Nasir Marafa was sh0t d£ad in Zamfara State.

The University Registrar, Oladipo Ajayi, announced his d£ath on Sunday.

Ramatu Ibrahim, who was the Deputy Bursar for Treasury before this appointment, takes over immediately.

The Registrar Oladipo Ajayi said the appointment aims to keep things running smoothly and ensure effective leadership of the university's money matters during this difficult time.

Ramatu Ibrahim is described as an experienced university administrator who knows the university's financial operations well.

Ramatu Ibrahim has worked in different major sections of the Bursary Department and has experience in accounting, financial management, treasury operations and related administrative work.

In her recent job as Deputy Bursar for Treasury, she provided professional oversight of the university's treasury operations.

The university said Ramatu Ibrahim's experience across the Bursary Department and her knowledge of the university's financial systems and processes make her capable of providing effective leadership and maintaining efficient, transparent and accountable financial services.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Uduma Oji Uduma, approved Ramatu Ibrahim's appointment with the agreement of Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Isa Yuguda.

The university expressed confidence that Ramatu Ibrahim would handle her new responsibilities with professionalism, hard work, integrity and strong sense of duty to the institution.

The university also remembered Nasir Marafa as a dedicated and dependable officer who served with commitment, professionalism and integrity.

They said his contributions to the university's financial management and development will be remembered with gratitude and appreciation.
