A quiet hotel stay in Calabar has turned into a disturbing mystery after a woman was found dead inside a room.

Police in Cross River State have started investigating a suspected h0micid3 case involving an unidentified woman found d£ad at a hotel in Calabar.
The Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Eitokpah announced the investigation in a statement.
The incident happened along Clifford Street in Calabar.
The hotel director reported it to police on Tuesday, along with the manager and receptionist.
Initial investigation showed an unidentified man had lodged at the hotel with a woman whose identity is still unknown.
The male guest was not properly documented when he checked in.
A receptionist discovered the room door was open.
When officers entered, they found the female guest lying unresponsive on the bed.
Police investigators found what appeared to be marks of violence on the woman's face and neck.
She was taken to a hospital where she was confirmed d£ad.
Her body has been placed in the morgue.
Police are questioning the receptionist who was on duty to understand what happened when the guests checked in.
ASP Sunday Eitokpah said holding the receptionist does not mean she is guilty but is part of the investigation process.
Police have launched a search to find the male guest who checked into the hotel with the d£c£ased woman.
Commissioner of Police CP Ajo Ordue has directed a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
CP Ajo Ordue wants police to identify the d£c£ased, uncover the circumstances of her d£ath and determine the role of anyone connected to the incident.
ASP Sunday Eitokpah asked the public to stop speculating and spreading unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.
He urged anyone with credible information about identifying the woman or locating the male guest to contact the nearest police station.
