A demolition job in Lagos has turned deadly after a two-storey building partially collapsed, trapping workers underneath the rubble.

One person has d+ed and two others were injured when a two-storey building being torn down by hand partially collapsed in Lagos on Thursday morning.
The collapse happened at a building on Governors Road in Aboru, Alimosho.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency rushed to the scene shortly after midnight and cordoned off the area to begin searching for survivors trapped in the rubble.
It appears the building came down while workers were doing manual demolition work.
Emergency teams from the fire service and ambulance service joined forces with LASEMA in the rescue operation.
They managed to pull two adult men out from underneath the collapsed structure.
Both men received emergency first aid at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
However, one adult male was found d£ad beneath the rubble.
The head of LASEMA expressed condolences to the family of the d£ceased and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
He warned developers and property owners to stop taking shortcuts with safety during construction and demolition work.
He urged the public and developers to follow building rules and hire only certified professionals for demolition and construction activities.
Residents were asked to report any suspicious or unsafe building and demolition activities by calling emergency lines.
The state government said security agencies and community leaders are working with emergency responders to ensure the operation is completed safely.
The government also promised to continue strengthening emergency response systems across Lagos to maintain quick response times.
