The House of Representatives has denied allegations that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, took loans without getting approval from the National Assembly.

Senator Ireti Kingibe had claimed that the FCT Administration had built up debts without getting the necessary legislative approvals.

She said she reviewed information from the Debt Management Office covering August 2023 to March 2026.

Kingibe said she had never seen Wike come to the Senate to ask for approval of any loans.

The House Deputy Spokesperson rejected these claims, saying there was no evidence to back up the allegations.

He said Wike has broken no rules in his borrowing and has not taken money behind the back of the National Assembly or acted outside the law.
