Videographer Femi Dapson has shared how he left a high position at Winners Chapel to move to Lagos and chase bigger opportunities.
Dapson said he had climbed high in the church hierarchy, reaching CEO level without even having a university degree.
He was wearing business suits, meeting with important people and enjoying comfort, but he worried that if he stayed he would become too comfortable and stop pushing himself.
So he decided to leave and go to Lagos to make money.
When he first got to Lagos, he took up a cleaning job while looking for better opportunities.
He saw a job advertisement in a newspaper and decided to apply for it.
At the interview, Dapson was surprised to find people with university degrees competing for the same position.
Despite having no degree himself, he used his confidence and experience to convince them he was the right choice.
He told the interviewers about his background in the church and how he could make their work easier, speaking about the experience he had gained at Winners.
His confidence and storytelling worked, and he got hired as a junior editor.
That was how his career in the media industry began.
