Tensions are boiling ahead of the much-hyped celebrity boxing clash between Carter Efe and Speed Darlington.

Content creator Carter Efe is determined to knock Speed Darlington down when they face off in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, and he's specifically upset about remarks Speed allegedly made about musician Burna Boy.
The two got into a tense confrontation at the pre-fight press event held at a hotel in Lagos.
During the standoff, Speed told Carter he was going to beat him badly, but Carter fired back by calling Speed out for staying so close to his security guard.
He challenged Speed to stand alone without any protection, saying he wanted to show that despite being just 24 years old, he could handle himself.
When Carter spoke to a media outlet before the bout, he made it clear that Speed wouldn't be able to hurt his reputation.
He even boasted that he's the one with people's secrets and could expose Speed if he wanted to.
But the real source of Carter's anger is what Speed said about Burna Boy.
Carter explained that Speed had called the musician gay, which he found completely out of line.
He said he can't stand by and let Speed disrespect a major artist like that, because if he does nothing, Speed will just move on to insulting other big names like Davido.
Carter wants more than just a win he wants to beat Speed so badly that it humbles him completely.
The boxing event, called "Chaos in the Ring," is set for October 1.
