Aaron Rodgers has opened up about the dramatic end of his engagement to actress Shailene Woodley, offering a version of events that challenges the story fans may have heard before.

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers has revealed what went wrong with his engagement to actress Shailene Woodley, claiming she told him days after accepting his proposal that she wanted to be with another man.
Speaking on a podcast on Thursday, Rodgers said he proposed to Woodley and she said yes.
But shortly after, she told him she needed to go be with someone else before they could get married.
He suggested that maybe she felt pressured into accepting his proposal when she could have simply said no.
According to Rodgers, Woodley took off her engagement ring by March. He said they tried to work things out several times after that, but it didn't lead anywhere.
Rodgers also pushed back against claims that he caused Woodley to become depressed after they split.
He said the story being told publicly is that he ruined her life and left her in a bad mental state.
But he says that's not what happened she told him she wanted to leave, took off the ring, and that was it.
He decided to speak about the relationship publicly because he said there are too many false stories out there about what happened.
He doesn't like that people are allowed to tell inaccurate versions of events without correction.
During the podcast appearance, Rodgers also made a jab at his former girlfriends, suggesting that their careers peaked when they were dating him.
