A 39-year-old Nigerian man wanted by UK authorities for his involvement in a multi-million euro fr@¥d has been arrested at Dublin Airport in Ireland.
Edwin Omokhuale was detained by Irish police on Wednesday afternoon as he was preparing to board a flight to Paris.
Officers acting on a warrant issued by the UK's National Crime Agency took him into custody.
Omokhuale is facing money la¥ndering charges connected to a fr@¥d targeting an Australian mining company in early 2023.
The scam involved roughly 23 million US dollars, or about 19.7 million euros.
Investigators believe the group behind the fr@¥d was based in the UK and tricked employees at the mining company into transferring money to bank accounts they controlled.
Omokhuale was living in the UK when the fr@¥d took place.
He appeared in court in Dublin on Thursday, September 10, as extradition proceedings began to send him back to the UK to face trial.
