Aisha Yesufu says Peter Obi supporters are preparing to closely monitor the 2027 election from the polling units to the final results in Abuja.

Political activist Aisha Yesufu has said supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress and presidential candidate Peter Obi won't just trust election institutions to protect their votes in 2027.
They're planning to take matters into their own hands.
Yesufu explained that they'll station representatives at every polling unit to watch the entire voting process.
From the moment the polls close, their team will track every ballot box and result sheet as it moves through all the collation centres from the polling station to the ward level, then to the local government, the state, and finally Abuja where the national results are declared.
She made it clear that no result sheet will be out of their sight. Not a single one.
They're going to follow everything in real time to make sure the final results match what Nigerians actually voted for.
The 2023 election taught them this was necessary, Yesufu said.
That experience showed that voters can't afford to sit back and let institutions do all the work.
Citizens have to get involved.
She was frank about her lack of faith in institutions.
She said she has zero trust in the election commission, security agencies, and the courts.
That's why grassroots mobilisation is so important.
Supporters need to focus on polling units, not just attend rallies and campaign events.
When asked about Obi's recent run-in in Benue State where his convoy was blocked, Yesufu defended him.
She said he had other appointments to keep and shouldn't let what she called troublemakers dictate his movements.
On Obi's chances, Yesufu is confident.
She believes voters are now thinking differently than in 2023.
People are focused on who can actually fix things someone with competence and character.
They care less about religion now and more about whether a candidate can tackle economic hardship and insecurity, which are what Nigerians deal with every day.
She was critical of President Tinubu's government, calling it a complete failure.
Yes, officials talk about good economic numbers on paper, but ordinary Nigerians aren't feeling it.
Prices keep going up, security is getting worse, and people have less money to spend.
That's what matters, she said.
She predicted Obi would win Lagos again in 2027 and make gains in other regions too.
Yesufu said she's not running for office herself.
Her job is to mobilise voters and make sure their votes actually count.
