A man has been sentenced to one year in prison for con„ing an Indian woman seeking spiritual healing and later bl@ckmailing her with a n@ked video.

Odigie Moses was convicted on Tuesday after pleading guilty to fr@ud and impersonating a spiritual leader.

He had posed as a spiritualist named Dr Solomon on a fake social media account and tr!cked Sharon Kaur into sending him $1,100 (roughly 1.47 million naira) for spiritual prayers and help.

The money was received through a payment platform before being moved into his local bank account.

Moses was arrested in Edo State during the investigation.

What made the case worse was what happened next.

Moses deceived Kaur into taking a n@ked spiritual bath, which he secretly recorded on live video without her knowledge or permission.

He then threatened to post the video publicly unless she paid him more money.

Kaur, desperate to keep the video private, paid him another $1,100.

The court sentenced Moses to one year in prison, or alternatively a fine of 300,000 naira.

The judge also ordered that the $1,100 fr@ud proceeds be returned to the victim through the authorities.
