Vice President Kashim Shettima is back in Nigeria after representing President Tinubu at the BRICS summit in India.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived back in Nigeria after attending the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi as President Tinubu's representative.
During his time there, he engaged in high-level discussions focused on strengthening Nigeria's economic and diplomatic relationships.
A key highlight was his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where the two explored opportunities in crude oil trade, investment, pharmaceuticals, defence, digital technology, fintech and renewable energy.
Shettima also sat down with the World Trade Organisation's Director-General, Ngozi Okonkwo-Iweala, to underscore Nigeria's commitment to multilateralism and a fairer global economic system.
At the summit itself, the Vice President presented President Tinubu's call for reforms in global governance and financial institutions, while showcasing Nigeria as a crucial entry point to Africa's growing market, particularly through the African Continental Free Trade Area framework.
Nigeria took the opportunity to strengthen ties with BRICS members and partner nations across agriculture, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, manufacturing, healthcare, energy and human resources development.
