Troops from the Joint Task Force North-West have arrested a suspected drug dealer in Kaduna State, stopped a t3rrorist att@ck and rescued two kidn@pped victims in Sokoto State during operations on September 12 and 13.
In Kaduna, soldiers conducting a checkpoint on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road stopped a man named Yohana Musa on September 12.
He was found carrying a large quantity of illegal drugs and other substances while travelling to Birnin Gwari.
The suspect and the recovered items are in military custody for investigation.
In Sokoto, troops responded to a distress call after t3rrorists att@cked Unguwan Lalle in Sabon Birni Local Government Area on September 13.
Soldiers engaged the t3rrorists with gunfire, forcing them to retreat while freeing the two kidn@pped victims.
After receiving intelligence that the t3rrorists were regrouping, troops quickly moved to the location and fought another fierce battle, again forcing them to withdraw.
During follow-up searches of the area, soldiers found 157 rounds of ammunition, phone batteries and other items.
The JTF said these operations show troops are continuing to disrupt t3rrorist activities and prevent criminals from moving freely across the North-West.
The Theatre Commander praised the troops for their bravery and professionalism and said he remains determined to stop t3rrorists and criminals from operating in the region.
Officials appealed to residents to help by sharing useful information with security forces to support ongoing operations.
