Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has revealed he has lived in his current home for 36 years and has no plans to leave because he's comfortable there.

Speaking during a television interview, Dangote said once he comes home in the evening, it's hard to get him to leave.

He's content with his lifestyle and doesn't feel the need to constantly chase new luxuries.

Dangote criticised wealthy Africans who buy private jets and fly around without investing in factories or productive businesses.

He said this doesn't help grow the economy and needs to change.

His focus is using his wealth to help industrialise Africa, with his biggest legacy being to build productive capacity on the continent.

Foreign investors are increasingly interested in Africa but need large-scale investment opportunities to put their money into, he said.

Dangote believes Africa's development requires a shift in private capital away from personal status symbols like jets toward factories and productive assets that create jobs, expand manufacturing and drive economic growth.
