The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Anambra State has arrested three men for vandalizing government property and building structures on state land.
The suspects were caught on Monday evening in Onitsha while stripping parts of government infrastructure.
Operatives arrested Oseloka Anyaorah, who identified himself as the Chairman of Ogbo Family, along with John Nwobodo and Ifeanyi Nwancho, who said they work for Anyaorah at the site.
The three had removed a government signpost, zinc sheets, nails and other building materials from property belonging to Onitsha South Local Government Area.
Investigators found the suspects had deliberately damaged and removed parts of the government infrastructure, with all recovered items now in the custody of the Corps.
The NSCDC State Commandant condemned the vandalism as economic sabotage against Anambra State and its people.
He said the suspects will be profiled and charged to court once investigations are complete and directed all operatives to remain committed to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
He called on traditional rulers, community leaders and residents to share timely information with security agencies to prevent further vandalism of government facilities.
