Tension is rising in Ayilamo as another deadly attack has struck a police convoy, leaving two officers dead and raising fresh concerns over security in the community.

Suspected armed herders have carried out an ambush on the convoy of the Divisional Police Officer in Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, k!lling two police officers.
The attack happened Monday evening, just days after the same community experienced another deadly assault by suspected herders that left four police officers and seven residents d£ad.
Community sources told a correspondent on Tuesday that the DPO was heading back to Ayilamo from Makurdi where he had gone on official business when armed attackers struck his entourage.
One source, speaking anonymously, explained that the victims were newly posted Mobile Police officers in the area.
Around 6pm on Monday, the newly deployed officers were targeted while travelling from Ayilamo to escort the DPO back to the community from Makurdi.
The latest assault came just four days after another incident in which suspected armed herders att@cked Ayilamo, k!lling four police officers and seven residents.
The Benue State Police Command's spokesperson confirmed the attack, stating that two officers in the DPO's convoy lost their lives.
He noted the DPO had travelled to Makurdi for official purposes and was returning to Ayilamo when the att@ck occurred, resulting in the loss of two of his men.
