Southern Delta University Warns Students Against Admission Fraudsters

Southern Delta University in Ozoro, Delta State, has warned students, prospective students, parents and the public against dealing with agents or unauthorised people who claim they can get them admission, help with registration or arrange final-year clearance.

The university said all its academic and administrative work is done only through official channels.

No individual or agent has been approved to collect money, change procedures or guarantee admission or clearance for the university.

The warning came after concerns about people who might try to take advantage of students and families by falsely claiming to have connections inside the university or the ability to get special treatment.

The university told students and prospective students to go directly to the right university offices for help instead of using middlemen.

It also advised people to protect their personal information and passwords and to check information before making any payments.

The university said it would not be responsible for money lost, fraud or other problems that happen when people deal with unauthorised persons.

It especially warned prospective students and their parents to be careful of anyone asking for money in exchange for admission, clearance or preferential treatment.

Legitimate university processes happen only through approved official channels.

The university also told its staff not to act as go-betweens or help with deals outside approved procedures.

The public should only use official university channels for information and dealings about admission and other academic or administrative matters.
