An APC chieftain has alleged that the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Rotimi Amaechi are secretly buying shares in the Dangote Refinery through its recent public share offering.

Ayekooto Akindele made the claim on social media on Wednesday while responding to people criticizing the Tinubu administration.

According to Akindele, while Atiku and Amaechi are allegedly buying refinery shares, their supporters still want fuel subsidies brought back.

He said that while some Nigerians have lost hope in the country, Nigerians living abroad are actively investing in Nigeria and buying Dangote Refinery shares.

Akindele noted that those criticizing the government from abroad are making people at home feel hopeless about the country.

He said it is strange that people living outside Nigeria are investing in the refinery while those living in the same country as Dangote are showing hopelessness.
