Army Rescues 22 People From Terrorists in Niger State

Nigerian Army troops from the 18 Brigade have rescued 22 people who were being held by t3rrorists in Muchiya village, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

The operation took place on September 15 after soldiers received intelligence that armed groups had gathered in the area.

Troops from the 18 Brigade Garrison and the 45 Battalion launched a patrol to track them down.

When the advancing soldiers appeared, the t3rrorists abandoned their captives and fled into nearby forests.

The determined troops chased after them, following their escape routes and managing to free all 22 victims.

During the operation, soldiers recovered three motorcycles and other items the fleeing t3rrorists had left behind.

All those rescued were quickly returned to community leaders in Muchiya and reunited with their families.

One victim, Alhaji Hassan, had been injured while in captivity and was taken to a clinic where he is now receiving care and improving.

The brigade commander praised his troops for their determination and fighting spirit, urging them to keep up the pressure and maintain control of the area.

He assured residents of Muchiya and surrounding communities of the brigade's commitment to protecting their lives and property, and asked them to continue reporting suspicious activity and the movements of criminal elements.
