JAMB has explained the three messages candidates may see on their admission portal.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has cleared up confusion around the three admission statuses candidates see on their portal.
JAMB released an explainer video Thursday breaking down what "Not Admitted," "Admission in Progress" and "Admitted" actually signify as the admissions cycle moves forward.
A "Not Admitted" label simply means no admission offer has come through yet, but it does not automatically rule out getting one later.
JAMB urged candidates to keep monitoring their portal as the process unfolds because status updates happen regularly.
"Admission in Progress" can mean different things. It might indicate your school has put you forward for admission but the process is not finished.
This could mean the institution's head has not yet signed off on the proposal, or the head has approved it but JAMB has not given final clearance.
The board stressed that this status does not guarantee admission will happen. An offer that was recommended can still be rejected if you have not met the school's conditions.
Only when JAMB officially approves does your status shift to "Admitted."
That is when you receive the congratulations message confirming the offer, and you can then choose to accept or reject it through the portal.
JAMB reminded candidates that their status will keep shifting as the process continues through to the final stage where you print your admission letter.
Check your portal regularly and rely on JAMB's official channels for accurate information.
