Suspected Serial Killer Arrested While Disguised as Woman in Brazil

A suspected serial k!ller confessed to murdering 80 people was arrested in Brazil while trying to escape by disguising himself as a woman.

Video footage shows police capturing Jorlan Alves da Silva, 33, wearing a striped dress and a loosely fitting black wig during a raid in Paraiba state in northeastern Brazil.

Officers pulled off the wig to reveal the suspect's short hair as he smiled at the cameras.

Silva was also wearing women's sandals, dark glasses and had painted nails while carrying a two-year-old child at the time of arrest, with police still trying to understand his connection to the youngster.

Security forces had earlier stopped a vehicle linked to Jorlan and his alleged accomplices, detaining one person inside.

Jorlan managed to slip away before being apprehended in disguise. Police suspect him of carrying out at least 15 murders for organised crime groups in just the past three months alone.

During questioning, Jorlan reportedly admitted to k!lling around 80 people over his lifetime.

He claimed his first murder happened when he was 13 years old and said he had spent five to six years in various prisons for different offences before his release in late May this year.

One case under investigation involves the double homicide of two businessmen on August 1 in Rio Tinto, where Jorlan accurately directed authorities to where one body was buried.

If his confession of 80 murders is confirmed, Jorlan would become Brazil's most prolific serial k!ller, surpassing Pedro Rodrigues Filho, known as the "Brazilian Dexter," who was convicted of 71 murders though he claimed over 100.
