The PDP's governorship hopeful in Cross River State, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong, has challenged anyone with evidence of wrongdoing against him to make it known publicly.
Archibong spoke to reporters in Calabar Wednesday while responding to a recent advertorial he claims is tied to the state government and aimed at damaging his reputation before the 2027 election.
He said his campaign would stay focused on development and policy rather than personal attacks.
He declared himself an honest, hardworking citizen with no criminal record anywhere in Nigeria and dared anyone with proof otherwise to step forward or stay silent.
Archibong alleged the advertorial was a bid to undermine his standing across the state's three senatorial zones.
He criticised the government's track record, pointing to gaps in infrastructure and human development.
He also said the advertorial contained accusations relating to c@ltism and religious syncretism.
The candidate alleged there are plans to deploy c@lt groups to spark violence before, during and after the 2027 elections.
He vowed his camp would not fear such threats, saying God remained their shield.
He insisted his campaign centre on issues, not personality-driven attacks, and said any response would come only as reaction to what he sees as provocations from the administration.
The ruling All Progressives Congress dismissed his allegations as baseless.
Party Publicity Secretary Emmanuel Inyang said Cross River residents backed the APC because of the administration's achievements over three years.
He said Archibong's claims showed a party unprepared to face voters and urged the PDP to ready itself for defeat at the polls.
