AIT Reacts to Sack of Staff in Edo Station in New Official Statement...Read Details

The management of the African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM Station has released a statement on why it sacked all the workers of its station in Benin, Edo State.

It was widely reported yesterday that in a letter dated June 2, 2016, signed by Victor Okasoga, the Senior Manager in charge of Human Resources of Daar Communications Plc, the management of the African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM Stations officially sacked all the workers of its station in Benin, the Edo State capital.
 
In a press release obtained by correspondents, Daar Communications, the parent company of both stations has spoken out on the sack of its staff in Edo State.
 
According to the statement, the management disclosed that only 13 of their 40 operational staff strength were laid off. The manangement also said that the sack was necessitated as a result of poor performance  and incompetency on the part of the affected staff.

"The management critically apparaised the operations of both stations (AIT and Ray Power) in Benin most especially as it relates to manpower caapacity utilization, dedication to duty, productivity level, and found some wanting and far from below expectation," it said.

In relation to the payment of salaries and entitlements to the staff, the management said that it is  "receiving Management's utmost attention as we snsure payment of salaries as funds are generated"
