Oyo State Police have rescued four more children stolen and sold by human traffickers, bringing the total number saved to 21 in an ongoing investigation.

The latest rescues came after police held a public briefing about the initial 17 children recovered.

Parents who recognized details of their missing children came forward with complaints that generated new leads.

The principal suspect, AdeJoke Popoola, revealed the whereabouts of additional children during interrogation.

Acting on this information, operatives went to Lagos and rescued a 3-year-old on September 3 and another child on September 8.

Police then extended investigations to Delta State and rescued two children on September 14.

The girls, ages 9 and 2, were stolen from their parents in Ogun State and taken to Delta State.

Police verified the identities of all four children and reunited them with their families.

The Police Commissioner has directed the investigative team to continue pursuing leads, identify other victims and bring all those responsible to justice.

Police urged parents and guardians with missing children to come forward with information that could help rescue other victims.
