Brazilian football legend Marcelo has chosen Cristiano Ronaldo when asked to pick between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Brazilian football legend Marcelo has chosen Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi in the ongoing debate over who is the greatest player of all time.
During an interview with Mexican content creators Isi and Benny, Marcelo was asked to pick between the two.
He said Cristiano, calling him his choice "to the death."
Marcelo's preference comes from spending nine seasons with Ronaldo at Real Madrid, where they won numerous titles including the Champions League and La Liga.
This is not the first time Marcelo has chosen Ronaldo over Messi.
In a December 2025 interview, he called himself a devoted Cristiano enthusiast.
During another interview, he said he was fortunate to have seen both players and that Cristiano has the edge because he played alongside him and faced Messi as an opponent.
Marcelo has ended his playing career.
Messi now plays for Inter Miami while Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr.
