Seyi Makinde has made a bold claim about the 2027 presidential race, saying he is confident his party can defeat President Tinubu.

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, says he will defeat President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Makinde made the declaration on Monday in Ibadan while receiving members of the All Progressives Congress who defected to the APM.
The APC members came from different parts of the state.
He said God, the people of Oyo and Nigerians in general are behind his party, so victory is certain.
Makinde also addressed Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the APC's gubernatorial candidate.
He told Alli to stop criticizing his administration and instead focus on competing against the APM's gubernatorial candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi.
"God has signed off on what we are doing, and that is why it is raining," Makinde said.
"Today, we are welcoming thousands of APC members into the APM.
This shows our victory is only a matter of time.
We will win massively in all elections in 2027."
