APC Chieftain Says Alia Has Changed Benue With Major Projects

An APC chieftain in Benue State says Governor Hyacinth Alia's projects will make him unforgettable to generations.

Okpokwu Ogenyi initially doubted Alia could govern the state, but the governor has changed his mind.

Alia fixed flooding in Makurdi by constructing drainage channels that redirect water into River Benue.

The state stopped flooding after his first year in office.

It used to flood every year.

In Benue South, the governor is building major roads.

A 42-kilometre road from Igumale to Agila is 80 percent complete.

The Obagaji-Okokolo-Agagbe road is nearly done.

The Oju-Awajir road connects communities across the zone.

Each of the nine local government areas also got five-kilometre roads.

Alia brought running water to communities that never had it.

He paid N1.57 billion to rehabilitate the Otobi Waterworks so Otukpo residents could get water.

He's building the Adoka Dam too.

The government hired about 10,000 teachers and renovated schools across the state.

Alia also started industries.

He built and completed a juice concentrate factory, a nail production factory, and a brewery that makes Ziva beer.

There's a fertiliser blending plant and he revived Taraku Mills.

Ogenyi says Benue has gone from a civil service state to an industrialised state.

The governor paid outstanding costs on some projects inherited from previous governments to push them forward.
