A late-night security operation on a major Katsina road has ended with seven kidnapped victims rescued.

Troops from 17 Brigade and Nigerian Police have rescued seven kidnapped victims on the Dayi-Malumfashi road in Katsina State.
The rescue happened around 11:45pm on September 21.
Security forces stopped a green Volkswagen Golf 3 car carrying the victims.
Six of the rescued are female students of Federal University Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State.
The seventh is the driver, Sani Umar.
The victims were rescued during ongoing security operations on the route.
Authorities are working to ensure their safety and find out how they were kidnapped.
Military sources say troops remain on high alert with strong operational readiness across the area.
The rescue is part of sustained security operations along major routes in Katsina State aimed at stopping kidnapping and other crimes.
