Ekiti State has given education officials 20 vehicles to help them visit schools across all 16 local government areas and monitor what is happening.

Ekiti State's education board gave out 20 vehicles on Wednesday to officials whose job is to visit and check on schools.
The officials work across all 16 local government areas in the state.
The head of the education board said the vehicles will help these officials visit schools more easily and check if schools are following the rules.
He said with the vehicles, the officials can reach schools in hard-to-reach places and collect information about how well the schools are doing.
This information helps the government make better decisions about education.
The education board leader asked the officials to take good care of the vehicles so they last a long time and keep working well.
Another official said giving out the vehicles shows the Ekiti State government cares about making education better.
He said officials who check on schools need good transportation to do their jobs properly.

School monitoring and evaluation officers have an important job.
