A long flight delay has landed Air Peace in trouble after a lawyer missed an important court case because his flight arrived too late.

An airline called Air Peace gave a lawyer and human rights activist named Inibehe Effiong a 25 percent discount on a plane ticket as an apology for delaying his flight.
The airplane authority ordered the airline to give compensation to Effiong and other passengers.
Effiong's flight from Lagos to Enugu was supposed to leave at 6:45am on September 21st.
He showed up at the airport at 5:50am ready to go.
But the airline told him and other passengers to wait.
The plane did not leave until 4:50pm, which was many hours late.
Because the flight was so late, Effiong missed a court case he had to go to in Enugu State.
He said the airline's behavior was irresponsible.
The airplane authority found out that the airline sent passengers the wrong information about the flight.
The delay happened because there was a problem with an earlier flight on Sunday night.
The airplane authority told Air Peace to pay money to the passengers who were affected.
Air Peace sent Effiong an email saying they were sorry for the delay.
They offered him a 25 percent discount on a one-way ticket on any of their domestic routes.
The ticket can be used anytime within six months, except between December 15 and January 15.
To get the discount ticket, Effiong has to send an email to the airline with his old booking information, a copy of his passport and details of the new flight he wants to take.
Even though Effiong accepted the discount, he said it does not fix the real problem.
He said Air Peace has a bad habit of poor service and does not care about passengers.
He said the airline is irresponsible and frustrating.
Effiong praised the airplane authority for responding quickly and ordering the compensation.
But he said Nigeria needs stronger rules to protect airline passengers.
He said the current rules are not strong enough.
