In a recent interview, Brazilian President Lula da Silva argued that US President Donald Trump has no right to boss other nations around or force his rules on them.
Addressing recent trade disputes, Lula called the reasons behind Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on Brazilian goods false, noting that while trade between the two nations fell, Brazil has simply adapted by expanding business with China, Germany, Japan, and the European Union.
He added that while he prefers negotiation over a tariff war, Brazil will defend itself if talks fail.
Lula also raised concerns about potential U.S. election interference in Brazil through artificial intelligence, pointing to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's ties with the Bolsonaro family, though he admitted there is no solid proof yet.
Finally, he criticized US military actions in Venezuela, stating that Washington is stripping away the country's independence and acting like its big boss, and urged Venezuela's interim leader to hold elections so the Venezuelan people can choose their own leader.
