The Northern Christian Association (NCA) has strongly condemned recent attacks in Plateau State that left at least nine people dead, including a pastor on his way to church.
Speaking through its chairman, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, the group warned that Nigerians must not treat continuous violence as a normal occurrence.
The violence occurred across Barkin Ladi, Riyom, and nearby areas, claiming five lives in an attack on a vehicle bound for Gana-Ropp, alongside the pastor and another traveler at Dorowa Babuje.
While acknowledging the efforts of security personnel, the NCA urged authorities to adopt proactive intelligence gathering, treat local communities as vital partners in preventing threats, and ensure those responsible are prosecuted.
