Police in Jigawa State have arrested a suspected gang accused of stealing motorcycles across Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna.

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested members of a notorious motorcycle-sn@tching gang for allegedly k!lling nine persons and stealing 33 motorcycles across three states.
The police said the gang specialized in motorcycle-sn@tching, receiving stolen goods and other violent crimes across Kaduna, Kano and Jigawa States.
The breakthrough came after one of the suspects allegedly att@cked and sn@tched a motorcycle from a bike rider in Aujara District, Jahun LGA.
Police working with community guards quickly responded, recovered the stolen motorcycle and caught the suspect.
This arrest led to finding and catching other alleged gang members working across the three states.
During investigation, the suspects told police they had sn@tched at least 33 motorcycles belonging to innocent people in different places.
They also said they carried out violent att@cks during which some victims were hurt and injured.
Most troubling, the suspects confessed to k!lling nine persons while committing their crimes across the three states.
The police named the suspects as Ado Saleh alias Datti, 55, from Kawari village in Kano State; Abdullahi Saidu, 37, from Kwanar Dangora village in Kano; and Magaji Danladi from Auramo quarters, Ringim LGA.
Others are Sabiu Miko from Kaugama LGA, Habibu Dan Iya from Didi village in Gagarawa LGA, Shamsu Sani, 32, from Ajingi LGA in Kano, Ali Salisu, 40, from Yanbaru settlement in Sule Tankarkar LGA, Alhassan Isa alias Tata from Shuwarin in Kiyawa LGA and Ado Ali from Baranda village, Dutse LGA.
The Police Commissioner commended the officers involved in the operation and praised a good person whose quick action helped recover the stolen motorcycle and led to the wider breakthrough.
The Commissioner has directed detectives to continue investigating to find other gang members, recover more stolen motorcycles and establish what happened in the reported att@cks and k!llings.
The police said all suspects found guilty will be prosecuted under the law.
