The National Examination Council has released the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination results.
A total of 1,496 candidates were caught in exam malpractice, down from 3,878 in 2025.
The NECO registrar made this known at a press briefing, saying 1,378,048 candidates registered for the exam but 1,371,992 sat for it.
Of those who sat, 804,948 candidates got five credits and above, including English language and mathematics, representing 58.67 per cent.
A total of 1,126,118 candidates got five credits and above regardless of English language and mathematics, representing 84.70 per cent.
The number of candidates involved in exam malpractice dropped by 64.74 per cent compared to 2025.
The registrar said the move to computer-based examination has cut down exam malpractice in NECO tests.
He also said NECO is not aware of miracle centres and that NECO owns only one school and is not involved with such centres.
NECO registers examination centres and has rules for which centres it registers.
If miracle centres exist, they were set up by state governments or are privately owned, but NECO does not back miracle centres.
