A new claim from Omoyele Sowore has stirred questions about President Bola Tinubu’s prolonged stay in France.

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress presidential candidate, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is lying in a hospital in France.
He made the claim on Monday while speaking on a television programme.
He said this after the president stayed away from Nigeria for longer than the three official weeks he had spent abroad.
Sowore believes the few times the president has been seen in public were staged to hide a serious health problem.
He compared the situation to the times of former presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Yar'Adua.
He said reliable sources told him Tinubu is receiving treatment in France and that the occasional appearances are meant to fool Nigerians.
According to him, the same line about a president being able to rule from anywhere was used when Yar'Adua and Buhari spent long periods in hospital.
Sowore said he has been in the U.S. for two weeks and also followed events at the United Nations General Assembly.
He added that Tinubu is still in hospital in France, and that he does not know the illness because no details have been made public.
He said this is the reason the president has not been discharged.
