The Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has told police officers to remain neutral and professional as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has asked his operational commanders to stay neutral, professional and respectful of human rights as the 2027 elections draw near.
He gave the charge at a strategic lecture on Election Security Management held at the Police Officers Mess in Bompai, Kano.
Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, heads of tactical and operational units and other key officers of the command attended.
In his address, Bakori praised the officers for their hard work and resilience in preventing and controlling crime, saying it has helped the state enjoy relative peace and stability.
He warned however that officers must remain fully neutral, apolitical and non-partisan while doing their duty, especially during the ongoing election campaigns.
He said the Nigeria Police Force has a constitutional duty to give all political parties and actors a level playing field.
He warned that any officer caught taking part in partisan politics or damaging the integrity of the election process will face strict disciplinary action.
Bakori told the officers to work with professionalism, respect for human rights and the rule of law, and to serve selflessly so as to win public trust and confidence.
He said public trust is the foundation of effective policing and urged them to strengthen partnership with communities and use intelligence-led policing to deliver a peaceful, credible and smooth election.
He also repeated the command resolve, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to provide enough security before, during and after the 2027 elections in the state.
