Richard Mofe-Damijo has celebrated veteran actress Joke Silva as she turns 65, praising her decades of work and influence in Nollywood.

Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly called RMD, has celebrated actress and director Joke Silva as she turns 65, praising her groundbreaking role in Nollywood.
He posted the birthday message on social media and called her his younger sister.
He also looked back on their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted more than 40 years.
RMD spoke about her grief following the death of her husband and fellow veteran actor Olu Jacobs.
He said that even as she mourns the love of her life, people are reminded of her life of grace, her hard work and her love for her family, her craft and her country.
He said the impact she has made on the entertainment industry and on the lives she has touched over the years cannot be measured.
He added that it was a privilege to watch and celebrate the woman she has become.
A news agency reports that Joke Silva is a veteran actress and cultural leader whose career covers stage, television and film.
She is also a co-founder of Lufodo Productions.
Her husband, Olu Jacobs, died on September 16 at the age of 84.
