A fight between two men in Niger State has left one of them without a hand after they reportedly attacked each other with cutlasses.

A man named Muhammadu Usman Fulani, from Kato Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, reportedly lost a hand in a cutlass fight with Muhammadu Aliyu Fulani in Beji community.
A police situation report obtained by SaharaReporters said it happened in the early hours of Monday, September 28, 2026, at about 1:20am.
The report said Usman travelled to Beji and met Aliyu with a woman who was not identified.
Usman told Aliyu he wanted to speak with the woman, and things got heated.
Both men pulled out cutlasses and fought. Usman's hand was cut off, while Aliyu suffered several cutlass wounds of different degrees.
The report, signed from the office of the Divisional Police Officer, Maikunkele, said the Officer in Charge of Beji learned of the incident after a distress call from General Hospital Beji.
Usman was rushed to the hospital for treatment, while Aliyu was taken to Hajiya Zainab Clinic in Beji.
Police said both men were responding to treatment at the time of the report, and the case is still under investigation.
