The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a woman seen in a viral video holding a knife and cursing police officers who allegedly arrested her for selling cannabis, commonly known as Indian hemp.
In the video, the middle-aged woman, wearing a green gown, is seated inside a car, shouting insults and cursing the officers.
She later steps out with a knife in hand and moves threateningly toward a young woman, apparently one of the officers recording the scene.
Speaking in Yoruba, she asked why the officers were troubling them, whether they were the only ones selling Indian hemp, and said they keep harassing them.
She then said it would never be well with them.
The incident reportedly happened in Ijebu Igbo, the headquarters of Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The command's spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest on Friday and said the matter is under investigation.
The state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, said he spoke with the Commissioner of Police over the video and was told the woman will be charged to court on Friday.
