Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that the Anambra State government hasn't given him anything, not even a sachet of pure water or a Christmas card, since he stepped down as governor 13 years ago.

Instead, he said he has faced constant insults and accusations.

Obi originally took office as governor in 2006 and served until 2014, navigating a brief impeachment and legal battles before completing two terms and handing over power to Willie Obiano.

Lately, tension has flared between Obi and the current administration under Governor Chukwuma Soludo, which accused Obi of leaving behind debts when he exited office.

Denying those claims, Obi pointed out in a viral video that he left behind $150 million in savings that he could have easily stolen.

He voiced frustration that despite saving state funds and seeking no extra perks, he continues to face attacks instead of peace and support.

“Since I left Anambra State as Governor, the state hasn’t even bought me a bottle of pure water. The only ‘thank you’ I have received for my service has been insults and accusations.” — Peter Obi https://t.co/anBsGqMZUm
