Dumo Lulu-Briggs, the Rivers State governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to forego his salary and official allowances if elected into office.

Speaking to reporters in Buguma, he stated that he plans to follow the example of NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi by redirecting those funds to support widows and fund welfare initiatives across the state.

Lulu-Briggs promised full transparency with public funds and emphasized that the people's resources would go directly back to them.

Addressing the political climate in Rivers, he dismissed concerns about opposing political coalitions, comparing the race to the story of David and Goliath.

He argued that voters are eager for a new direction and noted that no coalition can defeat the collective will of the people in a fair election.

Lulu-Briggs also called for an end to ethnic division, urging residents to return to a time when unity outweighed tribal identity.

He stated that his administration would focus on inclusion, youth empowerment, and economic growth, promising interest-free loans and structured financing ranging from ₦2 million to ₦30 million to help young entrepreneurs build viable businesses.
