Striker Kelechi Iheanacho has opened up about his return to the Super Eagles and his unwavering dedication to representing Nigeria ahead of their international friendly against Russia, according to online reports.
The 30-year-old forward was left out of recent national team squads during a rough patch at the club level, but earned his spot back after a stellar run with Turkish second-tier side Bursaspor.
Iheanacho has been in fine form this season, racking up 11 goals and two assists in just eight league matches.
Speaking to the team's media, the former Manchester City star highlighted his long history in green and white, noting he has represented Nigeria at every level, starting from the Under-12s all the way up to the senior team.
He emphasized that his desire to play for the country goes beyond status or prestige, stating that if called upon for any age grade, he would gladly step up out of pure passion for the game.
Iheanacho added that wearing the national jersey remains a lifelong dream for any Nigerian player, and he looks forward to building on his record of 14 goals in 58 international appearances.
