Three men have been arrested over a deadly attack on a family in an Ibadan village, with police uncovering disturbing details about what happened inside the home

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men over the killing and robbery of a family at Oloba Village in Lagelu Local Government Area of Ibadan.
The suspects are Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward.
All three live in Oloba Village.
Police said the attack happened on September 22, 2026, at about 7pm.
The command only got credible information about it on October 2.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, said early investigation showed that the men broke into the home of Ifeanyi Chukwu, his wife and their four children.
They allegedly carried a locally made dane gun, two cutlasses and a club.
They took ₦200,000 cash, a Boxer motorcycle, a Doma machine with chainsaw and a spraying machine from the family.
Police said Hammed Akinbami shot the husband, while Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward hit the wife on the head.
Two of the children were allegedly tied by their hands and legs and thrown into a nearby river.
The rest of the family were also killed and their bodies dumped in the river.
Detectives went to the scene afterwards and found the family's Boxer motorcycle, the dane gun, two cutlasses and the club.
The three men were then arrested and locked up.
Police said they admitted their part in the crime during questioning.
The wife's body has been found, while the search for the other four victims continues.
The suspects and the case file will be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku for further investigation and prosecution.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, ordered a full investigation and said everyone found guilty must face justice.
